Aauin, Shouting What We Feel, is an anthology of poems and short stories by a group of poets and writers known as the Generation of Saharawi Friendship. This anthology is significant because it was inspired by critical events taking place in the occupied territories of Western Sahara in 2005 when mass peaceful demonstrations by Saharawis were repressed by Moroccan forces. The group of artists could not remain silent and thus committed their talent to bringing forth the injustices taking place in Western Sahara to the public’s attention and to break through the information blackout surrounding the situation.
The ArtVenture Freedom to Create Prize application states: "The poems reflect the wounds of these events, the situation in the prisons, the torture. Numerous poems in the anthology are dedicated to those human rights activities who have sacrificed all and greatly suffered for speaking out against the oppression in Western Sahara."
