Featured Artist - Albert Ashok

Shocked by the wave of terrorist events after September 11, Kolkata based artist Albert Ashok started drawing in a bid to control his emotions.

"I realised there should be a message that these sorts of heinous crimes can not win, they are frustrated people are being misguided, No one should join them," he wrote on his blog.

Apart from being an artist, Mr Ashok is also the secretary of the Rainbow Artists and Writers Foundation in which underprivileged artists and writers work towards Freedom of Expression. Mr Ashok wrote: "As an artist or a poet, I become emotionally charged when I see rights of a human being is at stake and trouble, or when human rights are violated".
